The Blessing of Pets!!!

(#1 of 7 pages!)

The Feast of Saint Francis of Assisi is celebrated on October 4th, but Holy Rosary Parish had its annual Blessing of Pets on Sunday, October 7, 2001, Rosary Sunday!!! About 150 pets and their human friends came to the Rectory Courtyard at 3:00 PM for a service of prayer, Scripture, song, and, of course, the blessing with Holy Water for the animals that are such a wonderful part of God's holy creation. If you would like to see the service used for the Blessing of Pets, please click on the image of Saint Francis.

Otherwise, please enjoy these photos of our Blessing of Pets at Holy Rosary!!! Also, special thanks go to Br. Harris Ingle, O.P., for being our official photographer for today's celebration!!!

Last year a snake...this year a scorpion...what will it be next year?!?

Is Father Vicente going to give my Sammy some water this year???

Hey, little doggie, do you want to come down here and play???

What's your kitty kat's name???

I wonder if some of my babies will be here for this neat blessing service?!?

There are rats and then there are "RATS!!!"

Look at that, a four month old kitty not afraid of so many dogs!!!

Now, MisC, your doggie boy friend couldn't come. I'm so sorry!!!
