The Knights of Columbus & Saint Albert's Students!!!

One of the important goals of the Knights of Columbus is the promotion and support of vocations to the service of the Church as priests, sisters, or brothers. Very frequently, the Knights will support in a special way the seminarians of the diocese in which the local council is located. This is true of our own Antioch Council of the Knights of Columbus. They have consistently supported the ministry of the Diocese of Oakland by supporting the seminarians of the Diocese studying at Saint Patrick's Seminary in Menlo Park. However, the Knights have also consistently supported the Dominican Students at Saint Albert's Priory in Oakland, the regional House of Studies for the Dominican Order. Recently the Knights of Columbus in the Diocese of Oakland gathered at Saint Anne's Parish in Union City to present cash gifts to Bishop John Cummins for his seminarians. In addition, our Antioch Council presented $500.00 to Brother John Mellein, one of our young friars studying philosophy at the Dominican School of Philosophy and Theology in Berkeley, a member school of the Graduate Theological Union.

Thank you, Antioch Council, for your support of the young men who will someday serve Holy Rosary Parish as a Dominican priest or brother!

So, Brother John, what year in school are you?

The Knights are getting things ready for the evening's program!

Lots of milling around and chitchatting!

A bit of patriotism at the beginning of the dinner!

Brother John, is this better food than you would get at Saint Albert's???

Bishop John Cummins thanked all of the Knights for their support of church vocations in the Diocese of Oakland.

Thanks, Steve, for your support of me and the other friars at Saint Albert's!!!

Keep up the good work Antioch Council!

You are a valued part of our parish community!
